About Kitchen Guy
Chef Jim Gray is a skilled chef, caterer, consultant and culinary instructor based in Western Montana. He was the American Culinary Federation’s Montana Chef of the Year in 2005.
An accredited personal chef, he owns and operates Kitchen Guy Chef Services, providing a range of meals from elegant food for special occasions to “comfort food” for everyday meals at home.
Chef Jim is seen every week on the popular “Kitchen Guy” TV series on stations throughout Montana. The feature will be syndicated nationally to television stations across the U.S. later in 2008. Additionally, he has served an an adjunct instructor in the University of Montana’s culinary program and at the Indianapolis Culinary Institute, teaching courses in culinary basics and advanced cuisine preparation.
He developed the unique menu featuring sweet and savory crepes for Liquid Planet in Missoula, Montana, and he served as Executive Chef for the Stonehaven Grille, the restaurant at the former Phantom Links Golf Course and Community.
Chef Jim’s culinary career evolved after a number of years in other professions. He worked as a television news anchor for an NBC affiliate in a top 50 market in the U.S. and he also worked in the White House press corps for a financial newswire. He served prominently as an association management professional with the Manufacturers Association of Central New York, the Empire State Business Alliance and the Society of Professional Journalists.
