Recipe: Spicy Tomato Bread

Here’s what you need:
2 large eggs — beaten
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 15-oz. can crushed tomatoes
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice — ground
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg — ground
1/2 teaspoon cloves — ground
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Here’s how to make it:
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease and flour a large loaf pan.
In a mixer with the paddle attachment, mix together the flour, spices, baking soda and powder and salt.
Add the sugar, then the eggs, one at a time. Add the tomatoes and vegetable oil and mix until well incorporated.
Put dough into a loaf pan and bake for 40 minutes.
The bead can be topped with toasted chopped nuts.
